                                            Here’s the back-story of ATRUSIA.

I first met the author, Jeanie Garris, in November 1980. I had just moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and answered an Ad for the perfect job: a Salesperson willing to travel. Our relationship began with Jeanie as my mentor. Working together, as time passed we became best friends—closer than sisters. From the very first meeting, Jeanie was always the visionary.  It doesn’t come as a surprise that such a dream would be presented to her. For years we traveled across America in search of success with all its wealth and glory. Unfortunately, we soon learned the price was too high; the infamous lie had fooled us. And worse…we didn’t know any other way.

Jeanie hungered for answers. Achieving top best performances, she’d tried everything, done everything, yet, success evaded her. Instead, loss after loss pelted this young vibrant entrepreneur. In the lowest valley of her life—God intervened. That day her life changed direction. No longer seeking wealth and riches – Jeanie sought the Truth. One of the most teachable people I’ve ever known, she thrust herself into thinking a new way. Analyzing her choices Jeanie realized the actions of her own role had in fact advanced the lie’s deception. Devastated, knowing she’d promoted its destructive character, Jeanie lost everything…but she never lost hope!

Before I married, Jeanie and I were roommates. We lived in a little yellow house just south of downtown Fort Worth, Texas. Thanksgiving Saturday of 1985 Jeanie laid down for a nap around 4:00pm, saying I’d see her in about an hour. But she didn’t wake till 8:00 the next morning! Sitting at the kitchen table she appeared dazed, lost in another world. Usually, Jeanie cooked and I cleaned. But that morning, if I wanted to eat, I realized I would need to prepare our breakfast. Sweaty and disheveled, food was the last thing on Jeanie’s mind. I fixed us a cup of tea and Jeanie told me what had happened to her the last 16 hours. The Dream was such a vivid story, with all kinds of interesting characters and strange creatures in far away places. So original, I’d never heard anything like it. It took hours to retell.  Amazingly, Jeanie remembered every little detail.

Hungry, I finally started the meal, though it was nearly lunch by then. As the eggs scrambled themselves, I said to her, “Wow! Jeanie – that story would make a Great Book!”  Keen to pick up on the potential of an idea, that one statement has led my friend to publish this amazing one-of-a-kind InSpiFi Trilogy—25 years later!

I know Jeanie would have done it anyway, nonetheless, she’s convinced if I hadn’t planted the seed of fruition, her memory of The Dream would have never taken root; the story would have been forgotten that day. The ever-persistent futurist, Jeanie believes ‘The Dream’ will become a blockbuster Movie…and I believe it too.
